Well...........that funny little sketch ended up a painting & I was laughing ALOT.
I dont have much experience painting faces, aside from with makeup...........that I am pretty good at. I can really rock a smokey eye. I have painted torsos, breasts, bums and legs.........but never the face of a lady. I was always worried I would make her look like an alien or worse.
Now I am not saying this is me....I am not saying that it is not me. I mean it could be.....she has red curly hair and brown eyes. Many imperfections.....some wrinkles. She also seems to like hearts and makeup and ummmm hair fascinators. Ok...maybe it is me.
BUT what I like most is......she is not PERFECT.
Sure I could have worked harder on her skin, her nose, her eyes ......but that wasn't what this was about. This was about NOT BEING PERFECT.
It is ok not to be perfect.......not to create perfectly.
I ended up using gel medium over my sketch and then painting on top and adding paste, thick paint, lace for her hair fascinator and of course hearts. ♥
What are you putting off trying because you are worried it will not be perfect?
