I have a feeling we will be hearing more and more from this awesome new artist. Great passion
Today I was reminded that sometimes things will not turn out no matter how hard I try to create a desired result. And especially when I'm trying to force something to happen. Sometimes we have to just accept things as they are. Put a coat of gesso over the canvas and try another day. AKA I painted like crap today! But it's ok....its all part of the artistic journey....a mirror for the way our daily life can be. Also...I blame
the full moon. ;D
Much love, ♥
I wish you all a peaceful heart and many sightings …….. Namaste ~ ♥ Tara
The day after Canada Day I had ended up leaving this watercolour card at Tim Hortons as a small token of appreciation for my favorite barista "Jennifer". She happened to be away on a well deserved vacation. You see this lady who serves me c.offee every morning radiates happiness. Every single morning she greets me with a huge smile & some form of compliment.... "You are beautiful....Love your hair....Love your smile....Love your glasses..... ect". On the days that I have felt cranky or bad about myself in any way, her warm greeting has always lifted my spirits. On the days that I am starting my day excited and happy she fuels further positivity for me as I start my day. Essentially, Jennifer's happiness and positivity is INFECTIOUS!
Today she was back from her vacation and she greeted me with "I love you! I missed you. You rock!"
A little bold to tell a stranger that you love them one may think?
Maybe......but....I admire her ability to be so open hearted. The world needs more Jennifers!
♥ You are an artist. You were born to create. Your paintings are already inside you waiting to be born through you. SET THEM FREE.
♥ There are no mistakes. Anything can be transformed at any moment.
♥ Be PATIENT with yourself and as your paintings emerge. Don’t rush the process.
♥ Be witness to your thoughts, actions, and patterns.
♥ Witnessing creates space for transformation.
♥ YOUR THOUGHTS CREATE YOUR LIFE. Choose your thoughts wisely.
♥ Be gentle on yourself (and others).
♥ LET GO of preconceived ideas. Having expectations will only get in your way.
♥ BE OPEN to all possibilities…all the time.
♥ Listen to your intuition. Go with your gut. TRUST YOURSELF completely.
♥ Be a brave explorer. Embrace the process of discovery along the way.
♥ You don’t need to know what will happen next. In fact, it’s better if you don’t.
♥ Respond to what is happening in the present moment. It’s all a conversation.
♥ Be spontaneous. IMPROVISE!
♥ Ask yourself, “What is working?”.... “What do I enjoy doing?” .... "Is this making my heart happy?"
‘♥ What is working’ is your entry point. Every moment is a new starting point.
♥ There comes a time when you need to commit to something, anything. Commit to NOW.
♥ Make bold commitments + follow through. You can always change your mind.
♥ Keep your brush, fingers or palette knife moving. Follow your heart. You know what to do.
♥ Don’t be afraid to go overboard. You can simplify at any time.
♥ This is not a linear process from chaos to order. SPIRAL in and out instead.
♥ BE FLEXIBLE. Be open to the unexpected. Surprise yourself.
♥ If you don’t like your painting, you have nothing to loose. Be bold!
♥ Remember to do things that scare you or feel “crazy.” Be brave! You are much stronger than you think.
♥ Step out of your comfort zone…again and again and again.
♥ Allow your process to be SEEN. Let go of “perfection.”
♥ Embrace your vulnerability. This is YOU at your most raw and real. It is a gift. Cherish it.
♥ Loosen up, have fun, be playful. Don’t take yourself or others too seriously.
♥ The process is much more important than the product.
♥ Getting “stuck” is part of the process + often leads to great breakthroughs. It is all learning.
♥ Don’t indulge in your stuck-ness. Move on through to the other side and trust that there is always another side.
♥ Your most valuable techniques are what come most naturally to you.
♥ Only YOU can paint like you. Your heartfelt creations are a gift to the world and to yourself. Always present yourself and your art to the world as a cherished gift.
"Flowers For Edna"
I decided to memorialize the watercolour by putting it into an insert for a deacons bench that I was refurnishing.
CONCEPTION. What does it mean? What does it represent?
This painting is about conception. An abstract idea or mental symbol which represents the fertilization of life, thought and growth.
Much love, Tara

So those acrylic skins I was playing with over a week ago finally dried. I was getting concerned that they would never dry. I was checking them everyday, poking my fingers in them. Time was needed. I needed to chill out and let them do their thing. Painting often teaches me lessons in patience.
Anyway, Mr Bubbles was created from those skins!
For those who did not see my last post about acrylic skins and I am sure there were a lot because I am probably in the minority of people who would get excited about dried paint skins. LOL
Let me give you the skinny on acrylic skins. Acrylic whaaaaat? Skins are basically left over paint that have dried & been peeled up from a non-stick surface. You see, I was feeling bad about throwing out dried paint so I decided to use left over skins. I also created some big sheets of new skins that I could manipulate. I then adhered them to canvas, highlighted/shaded & this is how Mr. Bubbles was created.
